1. How this policy is organised
Sections 3 to 10 describe practices that apply to every app listed above. Section 2 describes each app individually, because the data an app handles depends on what that app does. Where the two differ, the app-specific section prevails.
Across all our apps, three commitments hold without exception: we never sell your personal information, we never share it with third parties for their own marketing, and we collect only what the app needs to work or to be improved.
2. The apps covered by this policy
My Caps (Capsy in Italian)
My Caps is a beer cap collection app. You photograph your caps, organise them, browse breweries on a map, and track statistics by brewery and country. My Caps has no user account and no sign-up.
Stays on your device
- Photos of your caps, taken with the camera or imported from your photo library. Image processing — isolating a cap from its background — runs entirely on your device.
- Your collection: the caps you have added, their brewery and country, and any details you record.
- Your app preferences and settings.
Leaves your device
- Usage analytics and crash reports, as described in sections 3 and 4.
- Brewery data requests. Browsing breweries or reporting missing brewery information contacts our servers to fetch or submit that brewery data. These requests never include your collection or your photos.
Not collected by this app
- Your location. My Caps does not request location permission and does not track where you are. The map shows brewery locations, not yours.
- Your photos. Cap photos are never uploaded to our servers.
- Your name, email address or phone number, unless you choose to email us for support.
Permissions requested
- Camera — to photograph your caps. Requested only when you choose to add a cap with the camera, and you can decline.
- Photo library access — used only for the specific images you select when importing a cap.
- Internet — to load brewery data and map tiles, and to send analytics and crash reports.
3. Analytics
Our apps use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how they are used in aggregate — which screens are opened, which features are used, and general device information such as device model, operating system version, language and approximate region derived from your IP address. This includes your device's advertising identifier.
Our apps do not display advertising, and we do not use this identifier for advertising or ad targeting.
4. Crash and performance reports
Our apps use Firebase Crashlytics to receive automatic diagnostic reports when an app crashes or misbehaves. These reports contain technical information such as the crash stack trace, device model and operating system version, and are used solely to find and fix defects.
5. What we never collect
Regardless of the app, we do not collect your contacts, messages, calendar, health data, or financial information. Any data an individual app does handle is listed in its entry in section 2.
6. Service providers
We rely on the following third parties, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:
- Google — Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Maps and ML Kit (privacy policy).
7. Data retention
Data stored on your device is retained for as long as you keep the app installed; uninstalling removes it. If your device backs up app data, that backup is governed by your device or platform provider's own privacy policy, not by this one.
Analytics and crash data are retained by Google for a limited period in accordance with Firebase's data retention settings, after which they are deleted automatically.
8. Your rights
You can delete the data an app holds at any time from within the app, or remove all of it by uninstalling the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or erase personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@icecode.fr. We respond within 30 days.
9. Children's privacy
Our apps are intended for adults and are not directed at children. Individual apps may carry a higher age rating where their subject matter requires it — My Caps is rated 18+ because it relates to beer and brewing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Analytics and crash data may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where required, these transfers rely on the safeguards offered by the relevant service provider.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to cover a newly published app. Any change will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Significant changes will also be announced in the affected app's release notes.
12. Contact us
Questions about this Privacy Policy, or about how any of our apps handles your data, can be sent to support@icecode.fr.
